In our previous articles, we discussed the first house, which relates to our identity, second house which rules over our values, third house which relates to communications & interest. Today, we will discuss the fourth house, which is all about our roots.

Fourth House In Vedic Astrology

Fourth House In Vedic Astrology

In Vedic astrology, the Fourth house is the house of home & family. It marks our journey from the womb to the tomb. So, with womb we mean mother, from where we originated, the care that we receive from our mother, and to what we are most attached, the things that we care the most. With tomb, we mean old age, our final resting place, the place from where we grow up, and will have to return one day.

So, it directly refers to mother, nurture, care, love, etc. The house shows the deep roots from where we emerged, thus representing our childhood as well. It shows the places where we find comfort and emotional satisfaction.

The House Of Happiness

The fourth house is also referred to as a ‘House of Happiness’ because it deals with your private lives. The image that you have in your family, your relations with the family members (especially mother), and everything that has strong ties in the native’s heart are seen through the fourth house. It represents the property, house, land, real estate, motorcycle, cars & other vehicles, etc.

The fourth house in astrology represents the comforts, happiness, ancestral properties, and anything that you possess. 4th house also has a lot to do with the education and qualification of the native because it signifies home, and School & College is also a home-type place where we go and learn.

It also represents the divine knowledge, which is something beyond religion like learning astrology, bible, Bhagavat Gita, reikie healing, etc. 4th house in astrology also represents the clothing, furniture, and any antique items that you have on your home.

It Represents The Sensitive Side Of Your Heart

This is the house that’s connected to our hearts, thus representing our feelings and emotional wounds. The sensitive side of our heart, which we always try to hide or protect from others, is also seen from this house. So, whenever you speak your personal & emotional side of yours, you are usually talking about your fourth house. It also represents the peace of mind and the environment that a native enjoys or suffers inside his home.

The 4th house in astrology also represents the gain of travels, wealth & resources of your younger siblings, the financial loss of your children, travel for your children. It also represents your gains through the debts, family after marriage, children, wife, etc. Other than that, it also represents the luck of your joint assets, gains through uncles, and gains through enemies.

The weak or negative fourth house in a chart indicates less happiness at home. The native will find it difficult to relax at home, but he would be relaxed once he goes beyond the boundaries of his house. The weak or badly influenced fourth house also adversely affects the comforts, happiness, and luxuries in the native’s life. On the other hand, the well placed and positive fourth house ensures pleasure of mind, great mental condition, stress-free & luxurious life.

The positive and well influenced fourth house also ensures great relations with relatives, gains through relatives, good health of mother, happiness, and relaxement at home. However, to examine the fourth house in astrology, one needs to analyze the whole chart. The fourth house in the horoscope relates to Cancer sign and is ruled by the Planet Moon.

After knowing about the 1st house in astrology, we have now moved into another chapter – The 2nd house. In Vedic astrology, the 2nd house is called Dhana Bhava, which means Money. It’s one of the important houses in astrology, and it needs proper attention before predicting anything about the financial health of the native. Jupiter is the significator of this house.

The Second House In Astrology

2nd House In Astrology

2nd house is a house of possessions, and it reflects all things that we own, ranging from material goods to relations. It represents the things that we already own and what we value in this life. The values are not just limited to anything material. It can be your interest, your opinion, your thoughts, etc. Obviously, values are mainly material, so it also represents your values towards golds, silver, jewelry, gemstones, etc.

Other than that, the second house in astrology also represents family, speech, the continuance of married life, wealth, fame, earning potential, banking, savings, etc. The 2nd house also decides your feelings towards all things that involve the financial standings of your life. How much you will earn and how much you will save & borrow is also seen through the 2nd house in a chart.

Lots of people believe that the 2nd house also rules the career or profession because it rules over the Money. However, it’s not true; the 2nd house mostly reflects one’s ability to earn or acquire Money. Money here doesn’t need to be a result of one’s own effort or earning. It could be in the form of funds, stocks, property, cash, jewelry, inheritance, etc.

As far as the body parts are concerned, it shows the eyes, face, neck, throat, mouth, cheeks, chin, nose, teeth, tongue, etc. It also represents our speech, intake of food, drinking habits, clothing, and anything that we put on our face like cosmetics. The adverse influence of a negative planet on this house also makes a person alcoholic.

2nd house astrology also represents your fame, family and your early childhood like how was your early childhood, how were you treated as a kid, etc were all seen through the 2nd house.

The 2nd house in astrology also represents the gains, hopes, desires of your mother. It also represents the career and fame of your children. The inheritance that you receive in your life be it from your father, mother, uncle, in-laws, etc were all seen through this house. This house also represents the health, diseases, and obstacles of your father.

It’s Fortunate To Have Benefit Planets In 2nd House

The second house also signifies your verbal expressions, and it’s also a karaka of speech. So, if any positive & benefic planet sits in the 2nd house like Mercury, the native will likely to be skilled at fields that rely on communications. If the second house is occupied by a benefic planet, the native will know many languages.

Generally, Jupiter is the best planet to have in this house because it expands the resources of the house where it sits in. Positive and well-aspected Venus and Mercury also does good in this house. Malefic on this house can also bring lots of wealth, but it comes late in native’s life.

Negative planets on this house can make a person suffer from vision or speech-related problems. Problems related to eyes, teeth, tongue, throat, etc. were also seen from this house of the chart. It also tells whether the native will have a hard time in accumulating wealth or he/she will suffer from debts and loans. Nevertheless, one needs to analyze the whole chart to figure the nature of 2nd house.

To sum, 2nd house is the key significator of Wealth, speech, possessions, money, livelihood, speech, eyesight, savings, movable assets, family background, etc. It also relates to things like property, inheritance, early childhood, etc. So, that’s all about the 2nd house, in the next article, we will be discussing the third house in astrology.

In our previous article, we discussed the second house in astrology. After the 2nd house, we have now moved into the 3rd house. To properly understand the third house, one needs to understand the 2nd house. The second house is all about wealth, and the third house is all about the things that we do to accumulate wealth.

Third House In Astrology

3rd House in Astrology

So, what is the third house? 3rd house is all about younger siblings, communication, speech, courage, ability to work hard, etc. It also represents your hands, and so does the ability to do something with your hands like writing, typing, painting, etc. Early education of a native is also analyzed from the third house.

In a birth chart, the 3rd house represents short and long-distance travel for business or work purposes. Your mental intelligence, creativity, ability to process information, is also signified by this house. So, this is the house that decides how you use your intelligence and what creative talent you will have.

3rd House – Communication

The third house is traditionally ruled by Gemini, and Mercury rules it. Since the Mercury governs it, it’s responsible for all sorts of communications.

Communications like with whom you talk, what you talk, how you communicate, what device you use to communicate, how you exchange information, etc. were all represented by the third house.

The third house also rules over different forms of communication like media, social networking sites, TV, Radio, smartphones, telegraphy, etc. Since it rules both intelligence and communication, how you use your brain during a conversation to form connections also comes under the radar of the third house. How you twist and turn things through communication to your advantage is also seen through this house.

It’s the House of Siblings, Friends & Co-Workers

The third house is also a house of siblings, friends, co-workers, and relatives. The 3rd house in astrology also has a lot to do with teaching something through communication. With teaching, we don’t mean that it makes one a Guru or teacher, but a positive third house can make you a great advisor. You could be giving tremendous and valuable advice to your friends, siblings, co-workers, etc.

In the astrological chart, the third house also represents the efforts that you make to accumulate or gain wealth. It’s worth to note that the wealth comes through the second house, but the efforts needed to achieve that wealth comes through the third house. So, it indirectly represents both your family’s and your personal wealth.

Government jobs, administrative works were all seen through the 3rd house in astrology. Both the 3rd & 4th house in a chart represents the mother. It also represents the hopes and wishes of your first child. What else? The third house also represents moving away from home for work purpose and mental states like depression, anxiety, etc.

A positive and well influenced third house makes a native excel in every field that depends on communication. They would have enormous confidence in themselves and will have the courage to move forward despite challenges. They would have a very creative mind and will never fail to find opportunities in life. On the other hand, the badly influenced or weak third house indicates a person with little or no communication skills. The native would be depressed and will think about negative things first.

So, to sum, the third house in astrology is all about mind, intellect, and communication. It shows how you approach and analyze your problems and grasp information. The positive 3rd house in a chart makes one skillful in writing, speaking, thinking, reading, and editing. Whenever any planet transit over the third house, we receive new information. The third house is also closely attached to siblings, co-workers, friends, and relatives.
